JDBC Relational Database - Exercise
Presenting your JDBC architecture design
Objective:
Describe the JDBC architecture.
Background/overview
Dr. John Dorian, the Director of the Brazilian Hospital Project that is connecting healthcare databases, has asked you to attend a meeting.
On the agenda it states that you are in charge of presenting a two- to three-minute description of the JDBC architecture.
You are sitting on a patio outside the project headquarters in the Pantanal, reviewing your assignment. From your analysis, you feel that you should begin your presentation by explaining the rationale for using JDBC. After explaining the rationale for using JDBC, you should describe the JDBC architecture. As with past projects, you prepare for your presentation by writing and rehearsing the presentation before delivering it to the meeting.
Instructions
Dr. John Dorian wants two topics included in your presentation.
The two questions are listed below.
In this exercise, you will map out your presentation for Dr. John Dorian.
Specifically, you will:
Describe the basic concept of the JDBC Architecture.
Describe the interaction between JDBC, the application(s), and the DB(s).
Hints
Refer to the JDBC Architecture Model while you prepare your description.
First, describe the JDBC architecture in three or four sentences. Then describe your rationale for using JDBC for Dr. Tucano's project.
